Oh no! They scheduled the school play on the same night as this week's music lesson. What do we do?
It happens. Every once in a while, the "lords of convenience" throw us a curveball and there's just no way out of that scheduling conflict that inconveniently pops up right at the same time as your child's lesson. You might be wondering how we handle these situations when they arise.
Because our teachers are reserving your child's lesson time in their schedules by appointment and mapping their driving routes accordingly, we require 48 hours of notice for "non-emergency" types of cancellations to be eligible for a makeup lesson. This amount of time provides your teacher an opportunity to rework his/her route for that day on which you are canceling. The most common examples of these types of cancellations are related to sports, after-school activities (like play practice for example), studying/homework load, guests in town, and other social events.
With the exception of illnesses and family emergencies, canceling your lesson with less than 48 hours notice is categorized as a "short notice cancellation" and considered to be forfeited by the customer. We cannot offer reimbursements to our customers for these instances.
Lessons work best for your child when the weekly routine is consistent. Our best advice with canceling lessons is:
- Let your teacher know about potential conflicts as soon as you learn of them.
- Take the opportunity while you are canceling to coordinate the makeup lesson in the same conversation.
- Whenever possible, try to reschedule your makeup lesson within the same week.
